MC²IT Workshop - So You Have An Idea: Now What?



Now that you have that promising idea for a new business, what are your next steps? Do you have what it takes for startup of a new business?


Conceiving that new idea for a product or service is one thing, but actually bringing it to fruition is quite another. Getting a product to market spans a wide spectrum of activities that include planning the business, securing funding, and promoting and selling the offering.


Using business principles, real-life examples and a case-study exercise, this workshop will introduce you to the considerations and steps required to start your new business. The workshop material applies not only to high-tech innovations, but also novel ideas for conventional products and services.

Workshop Overview

Presented by MC²IT (Mission College Center for Innovation and Technology), this two-evening workshop explains the start-up process and profiles successful entrepreneurial companies and the types of individuals who start them.


The workshop will include light snacks and a case study reading assignment for an in-class exercise on the second evening. Attendees will be encouraged to bring wireless laptop or notebook computers for the exercise.
